Supporting Families of Children and Young Adults with ASD
SC Behavior Solutions is an ABA therapy practice in Columbia SC employing 11 therapists, providing behavioral therapy to over 25 children, teens and young adults on the autism spectrum.
Services are provided in person in the home, at day care centers, and at our Skills Center in Columbia’s Sandhills.
ABA therapy is the only intervention proven to be effective in the treatment of autism.
As ABA providers we focus exclusively on observable behaviors: our targeted interventions are designed to reduce our clients' behavior excesses, and to improve their social and communication skills, resulting in an overall improvement of their lives, and in better longer-term outcomes.
We also place great value on providing training to families and caregivers of our clients, to enable them to ensure continued progress on our therapy goals.
One of the great life challenges for young individuals on the spectrum, is the acquisition of social and life skills outside the home, in an nurturing environment.
Unfortunately, schools are generally understaffed and underfunded, and their limited staff unable to attend to our kids' special needs. As a result, our kids are often unable to develop critical social skills and make friends, leading to a sense of social exclusion.
In our Skills center, under the watchful eye of their therapists, our clients get to engage with their peers and grow together, one-on-one and in small groups, have fun and make new friends.
