ABA therapy in the home

Our therapists and supervising BCBAs will come to yoru home and provide 1:1 ABA therapy to your child. In many instances ABA therapy is quite intensive, and our therapists will be in your home more than once a week for several hours. It is importanrt that therapy takes place in your child's  natural environment, and that our BCBA design interventions that keep in account for the environment in which your child lives. We strive to make sure there is a good fit between our therapists, and all those invooved in your child's care. 

Besides 1:1 ABA therapy, provided by both our RBT and our BCBAs, our BCBAs also provide family therapy training, to update you on your child progress and to ensure that you know what specific interventions they have set up and that you can help maintain the newly acquired skill and behaviors. During family training our BCBAs will also make sure you know of any changes in the goals and interventions of  programs we run with your child.

SCBS also provides in daycare centers services similar to those to those provided in the home; this is an important option as daycare centers are often a signifcant part of your child's natural environment. These services are subject to rules established by the the daycare centers that may impose time limits or restrictions; we encourage you to explicitly request that our therapists be given access and allowed to work with your child. 

ABA therapy in school settings are typically limited to BCBAs, and you will find some resistance to allowing access; we will help you assert your rights with the schools and work with you to ensure that your child receives the appropriate accommodations and assistance. 

Our BCBAs will typically take part in IEP meetings, and when possible assist teachers and support staff in the care of your child.  

Our Sandhills Skills center is the crown jewel of our practice; we are currently receiving our clients, providing ABA therapy specifically focused on the development of key social  and life skills. Our center is set up with multiple spaces, divided by age group where we actively promote socialization, with each child working with their assigned therapist in small groups.

One of the greatest sources of satisfaction in the work we do at the center is witnessing the rapid acquisition of vital social skills, and the blossoming of new friendships.
